The hybrid simulation testing rig is composed of virtual and actual components to study the static and dynamic characteristics of pantograph/catenary systems and their parametric marching.

Functions:

l Hybrid simulation of pantograph/catenary system: running performance (the variation of contact force) of pantograph/catenary systems at high speed, optimizing the parameters of the catenary system for existing pantographs, such as structural height of the catenary system, span, type and tension of the contact wire and the messenger wire, type and its distribution of the dropper, dip of the contact wire, surface irregularities of the contact wire, and optimizing the pantograph type under existing catenary system.

l Measurement of dynamic behavior: measurement of the equivalent parameters, following characteristics and frequency response, resistant impaction of the longitudinal, lateral, vertical direction and lateral vibration of the pantograph system.

l Measurement of static behavior: measurement of raising/dropping time, lateral stiffness, retention forces, contact pressure and static forces to working height.

l Measurement of durability equipment: raising and dropping reliability, pantograph suspension equipment, lateral vibrations, and other related experiments.
