Our Classes

The State Key Laboratory of Traction Power has 24 classes (as of November 2, 2020), including 18 master’s and 6 doctoral students. In order to improve the efficiency of postgraduate class management and enhance the integration of postgraduate class and specialty, since 2020, the master’s class has been set up in accordance with the professional direction, laying a foundation for improving the quality of postgraduate training.

In recent years, the State Key Laboratory of Traction Power has carried out a number of powerful works in the aspects of class ideological construction, academic activities, class culture construction, class cohesion construction and so on. Class construction has made great progress. Every year for three consecutive years, one class has won the title of "loyal class collective" and 2-3 classes have won the title of "excellent class collective" each year.

Academic Activities

The State Key Laboratory of Traction Power pays attention to the cultivation of graduate students ‘academic habits, and strives to create an atmosphere for graduate students’ academic activities. It has created three major academic brand activities of graduate students, namely, "Chuangyuan" lecture hall, "Elsie laboratory" Academic Salon and "dynamic life" academic lecture."Chuangyuan" lecture hall aims to broaden the academic vision of graduate students and enlighten their academic thoughts by inviting well-known scholars in the field of rail transit and Yangtze River scholars to give academic lectures. "AISI laboratory" mainly invites young scholars to carry out academic salon activities, and to explore innovative thinking of graduate students through interviews and discussions. "Dynamic life" mainly through the invitation of senior laboratory graduate students to write large papers, small forum delivery and other aspects of academic lectures. In addition, the laboratory also organizes and carries out academic moral integrity activities every year, and holds a special class meeting for freshmen to educate graduate students on academic integrity. In order to help graduate students develop good learning habits, the laboratory also focuses on creating "Qinghua classroom" ability training camp, which is used to cultivate graduate students’ time management and academic ppt production.

The State Key Laboratory of Traction Power pays attention to the cultivation of the comprehensive quality of graduate students and graduate cadres, and has carried out quality development activities for freshmen for five consecutive years. Deepening the mutual understanding between Freshmen and enhancing the cohesion of Freshmen’s class is of great help to improve the comprehensive quality of Postgraduates in terms of cooperation ability, communication ability and expression ability. Volunteer Service

lVolunteer service activity of caring for children with Down’s syndrome

Since April 2019, he has been to Chengdu Down syndrome Mutual Aid Association for many times to carry out the monthly Tangbao volunteer service activities. Under the guidance of the teachers of the association, the volunteers accompanied Tang Bao in various intellectual, language and physical training, such as playing games, doing handicrafts, playing table tennis, recognizing coins, drawing, etc., to bring joy to Tang Bao and help them gradually move towards normal life. At the same time of volunteer service, volunteers also actively promote the down group, hoping to obtain extensive social attention, understanding and support.

On November 21, 2019, she went to Aihui special children care center of Chenghua District to carry out volunteer activities to care for autistic children. The volunteers brought comic books and snacks and accompanied the children to class. In the joy of game class and music class, in the communication between training class and culture class, the volunteers felt the urgent need of autistic children to recognize and praise others, and to explore the outside world. Volunteers hope that through personal contribution, social groups can pay more attention to and participate in the services for autistic children.

In 2020, a new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic became special. In the upsurge of the national war "epidemic", the leading students also took an active part in it and contributed their own strength. Novel coronavirus class 19-6, a party branch of traction research, called on class students to donate to the Wuhan special fund for the prevention and control of new coronavirus, 2016 level PhD Party branch, 19 level PhD branch, 19-5 Party branch, and a mask for the first-tier police officers; the lab also had 6 volunteers who were actively taking part in the local epidemic prevention and control work, and helped them to persuade and return. Registration, inspection of wearing masks, temperature measurement and vehicle disinfection and other epidemic prevention work.

Sports Culture

Since the establishment of the State Key Laboratory of Traction Power, it has a good sports culture atmosphere. The laboratory actively encourages the majority of graduate students to strengthen physical exercise, enhance physique, and play a good physical quality for scientific research and study. At present, the characteristic sports activities carried out in the laboratory include basketball match, football match, badminton match, table tennis match and so on. With the joint efforts of all teachers and students in the laboratory, he has won the honorary titles of the first postgraduate Basketball Culture Festival of Southwest Jiao tong University, the second runner up of the men’s group of the Shi Mao Cup 2018 Freshmen’s autumn Basketball League, and the best Popularity Award of the eight-person college and department League of Southwest Jiao tong University.
