International Symposium on Dynamics of Vehicles on Roads and Tracks (IAVSD)

The International Association for Vehicle System Dynamics has been formed by decision of the Scientific Committee of the 5th IUTAM-VSD Symposium in Vienna, Austria on September 20, 1977. On September 22, 1977 the first Board of the Association was formed, consisting of five officers and six trustees.

Main objectives of the association are:

lTo promote the development of the Science of Vehicle Dynamics, a discipline that is based upon the theory of motion of ground based vehicle systems, and to encourage engineering applications of this field of science.

lTo inform scientists and engineers on the current state-of-the-art in the field of Vehicle Dynamics, to provide a mechanism to communicate original contributions in this field among scholars and applied scientists and to motivate scientists and engineers in related fields to contribute to its body of knowledge.

lTo broaden contacts among persons and organisations of different countries engaged in scientific research and development in the field of Vehicle Dynamics and related fields, and to promote free and informal exchange of ideas and results. The Association does not exist to further any commercial goal.

Biennial symposia have been held at selected locations around the world. The symposia provide a framework for free and informal exchange of ideas and results. The symposium proceedings have contributed greatly to a better understanding of ground vehicle system dynamics related problems.

IAVSD aims to operate at the highest possible scientific and technical level thus Board of Officers and Trustees of IAVSD is selected on the basis of their high achievements in science and engineering.

IAVSD is a not for profit organisation.

International Conference on Contact Mechanics and Wear of Rail/Wheel Systems (CM)

The International Conference on Contact Mechanics and Wear of Rail/Wheel Systems is a scientific event with the aim of stimulating contacts between scientists, practitioners and consultants who are active in the area of Contact Mechanics, including wheel/rail interface problems, vehicle/track interaction and noise. The CM conferences are a record of achievement and advancement in this area of critical importance to railways worldwide. The CM conference commenced in Vancouver, Canada in 1982 and since then has been held in USA (1986), England (1990), Canada (1994), Japan (2000), Sweden (2003), Australia (2006), Italy (2009), China (2012), USA (2015), and Netherland (2018). The conference proceedings have been published in a special issue of the international journal "Wear" since CM1990, the papers of which need to be subjected to a process of international peer reviewing to ensure that they are consistent with the high standards of the journal.

International Conference on Rail Transportation (ICRT)

The aim of the ICRT conference series is to provide an international forum for scientists, researchers, and engineers around the world to exchange the knowledge, ideas and experiences in rail transportation planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance. The first ICRT conference sponsored by Southwest Jiaotong University was held in Chengdu in July 2017 with great success, and over 350 innovators and contributors from 24 countries, including 102 delegates from outside China, presented and shared their innovative research stimulating railway development. The Proceedings of ICRT 2017 were published by ASCE in 2018 and indexed by the EI Compendex and the Web of Sciences.

Details of abstract submission, registration, vendor  exhibition, hotel reservation and other important information for the participants will be announced on the ICRT website (http://www.icrt.org.cn).
