In order to further improve the education of scientific ethics and academic norms for graduate students and guide them to firmly establish the consciousness of academic integrity and academic norms,the special lecture was held successfully in the college student hall of Jiuli Campus on Dec. 23rd.Prof. Zhai Wanming,academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, foreign academician of American Academy of Engineering, member of Scientific Ethics Committee of Chinese Academy of Sciences, executive Deputy Director of Academic Style Construction and Science Communication Committee of Science and Technology Commission of Ministry of Education, was specially invited as the keynote speaker. More than 1,000 teachers and students attended the lecture.
Academician Zhai Wanming described in detail three criteria for defining academic misconduct, such as Plagiarism, Falsification and Falsification, in accordance with the Chinese press and publishing industry standard "Academic Publishing Norms Journal Definition of Academic Misconduct." He also explained the core criteria of the these behaviors through detailed cases.He pointed out that researchers should be down-to-earth in their research and should not lose the bottom line of academic ethics by seeking quick results and instant benefits. He called on everyone to "start from me, start from now".
