On May 23, Wang Zhigang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology and his entourage came to SWJTU for investigation, in-depth understanding of major national strategic needs from the University and the development of key technical research in related fields.
At the State Key Laboratory of Traction Power, the Minister inspected the high-speed train experimental platforms, the Vacuum Pipe High-temperature Superconducting (HTS) Maglev Levitation Ring Test Line and took an experiential trip on the world's first high-temperature superconducting high-speed maglev engineering prototype vehicle using the original technology of SWJTU. Wang Zhigang highly affirmed the breakthrough in engineering research of high-temperature superconducting and high-speed maglev engineering from scratch, and hoped that the University will develop a timetable and phased goals from prototype test to practical application in the next step.
